J. D. McClatchy with Alice Quinn
J.D. McClatchy is the author of six books of poetry, including Mercury Dressing (2009); Hazmat (Alfred A. Knopf, 2002) which was nominated for the 2003 Pulitzer Prize; Ten Commandments (1998); and The Rest of the Way(1992). His essays were collected White Paper (Columbia, 1989), winner of the PSA’s Melville Cane Award, in Twenty Questions (Columbia, 1998), and in American Writers at Home (Vendome/Library of America, 2004. He is also the editor of Poets on Painters (California, 1988). He has received fellowships from the Guggenheim and the National Endowment for the Arts, the 2000 Connecticut Governor’s Award, and a Literary Lion commendation from the New York Public Library. Plundered Hearts: New & Selected is forthcoming from Knopf.
